What We Did

  • Performed a total site energy audit & infrastructure overhaul
  • Provided detailed eQuest models for energy analysis
  • Developed alternative financing methods to support the project

The Masonic Charity Foundation of New Jersey contracted MCFA to perform a total site energy audit and an energy infrastructure master planning project.

MCFA developed design documents and robust modeling to construct an investment grade audit for lighting retrofits, chilled water plant renovations, and cogeneration projects for the client.

This investment included a new 1.2 MW solar photovoltaic array as well as a large diesel generator to serve as backup power for the facility. The ESPC project integrates micro-grid technology and controls that ensure these energy sources work in tandem as well as optimizing the most economical source of energy at any given time.

MCFA also provided a risk-based assessment of the facility’s condition, alongside energy saving improvements, to identify failing infrastructure to be replaced.

Our analysis included detailed eQuest models of the facility, calibrated and adjusted for the typical meteorological year, as well as hourly models for solar power and cogeneration projects.

To finance these projects, MCFA developed alternative financing methods for the Masonic Charity Foundation of New Jersey. Our company is currently engaged with a financier to finalize an Energy Services Agreement that will result in a no-cost energy infrastructure improvement for the Masonic Charity Foundation site.
