“If you want to change the world, go home, and love your family.”
-Mother Teresa
Mom, Mommy, Mama, Mah, Mother Dearest, Mama Bear. Whatever name you call her, we honor the mothers in our lives this weekend.
So first and foremost, I want to wish all the moms a relaxing weekend. We have MANY moms in the MCFA network of partners, clients and employees, and I know first-hand how much you all juggle for your families and work teams. We appreciate all you do.
And in honor of Mother’s Day, I challenge you to reflect on the best qualities of the mothers in your life and TELL THEM! Trust me. The heartfelt reflection will go a lot further than the $6 Hallmark card. Whether it’s empathy, a get things done attitude, a never quit perseverance, or a juggling act of priorities – day in and day out, mothers are the best teachers of leaders. Why?
Because they lead with love. Sometimes it’s tough love, and sometimes it’s a hurry out the house love. Sometimes it’s a screaming love, and sometimes it’s a fresh-baked cookies love. Sometimes it’s cheerleader love, and sometimes it’s the hug you need love.
Like every great leader, moms know that every kid and every circumstance requires a different kind of love.
Happy Mother’s Day, Moms!
