Failure to Communicate

“What we’ve got here is failure to communicate.” -The Captian

It’s a line from the classic film Cool Hand Luke. It’s hard to admit that we all fail to communicate sometimes. But if we see things we don’t want to see from our team or our kids…are they doing something wrong

Or was it failure to communicate on our part?

Truth be told, I’ve failed to communicate with many of you. You see, one of the most ardent readers of my Friday emails recently let me know that he had no idea that I was posting podcasts with some of our industry’s top leaders.

In fact, we’ve published over 30 podcast episodes to date with important industry guests like Jill Jamieson (Illuminati Infrastructure Advisors), David Shulkin (Former US Secretary of the VA), Howie Ferguson (Construction Owners Association of America) and Jan Tuchman (Engineering News-Record – coming soon!)

Didn’t he scroll down to the bottom of my emails over the past year to see those links?

He didn’t do anything wrong – I failed to communicate.

The reality is, if you don’t feel like you’re communicating too much, then you’re not communicating enough.

If you tell someone something ten times, they’ll swear they heard it once, and that’s just how it is.

We, myself included, need to communicate more. And we need to seek acknowledgment to confirm what we are communicating is getting through.

So, I would like to ask you. Did you know we had a podcast? Have you listened to any episodes? What did you think?

Please email me and let me know.
