MCFA coordinates massive $56.1 million energy retrofit at 7 Chicagoland federal government buildingsAugust 10, 2015

"There are several acronyms and some really big dollars behind current Chicago federal building energy savings retrofits, but these abstract concepts and explanations came to life when a helicopter arrived downtown late last year to lift large piping and five cooking tower basins in a single-day assignment.

The work, part of the General Services Administration (GSA)’s ESPC (Energy Savings Performance Contract), where MCFA‘s Chicago office serves as the owner’s (government’s) representative, is part of a $56 million initiative “to take out 50 year old infrastructure, replacing it with highly efficient systems,” says MCFA construction manager Erika Miller.
