MCFA is proud of its on-going support to the Air Force Civil Engineering Center and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL) in its effort to develop on-site energy generation capabilities and become an energy resilient and secure installation. With MCFA’s support, the Air Force is working with developer Starwood/Siemens to develop two utility scale solar facilities, biomass, and gas powered technologies and incorporating these facilities into a larger JB MDL Energy Master Plan focused on achieving energy resiliency. The energy resiliency plan includes on-site renewable and nonrenewable energy generation, smart microgrid technologies, and potential islanding capabilities. JB MDL’s efforts have recently attracted national attention for its comprehensive and forward thinking planning regarding energy efficiency and resiliency. MCFA is pleased to announce that JB MDL and the planned energy Enhanced Use Lease project are prominently featured in an article entitled “Energy Security, Resiliency and Opportunity” published in the March-April 2015 issue of The Military Engineer.
